XGeezer

XGeezer is a rock 'n' roll band that plays uncompromising punk music. XGeezer is Thommy Berlin--guitar and vocals, Roy De Stroy--bass and vocals, Sean "Beer Can" Jones--drums.

Here's a few nice things folks have said about XGeezer:

"Michael Butler plays xgeezer on his music show. Always a good time."
— Michael Butler, The Rock And Roll Geek Show indie cast 124

"I’d like to take a moment to tell you about this band, XGeezer. They are a loose affiliation of musicians built upon the core of Thommy Berlin, Roy De Stroy and Sean 'Bones' Jones, who work with other bands and with other artists.

They come together when they can. In one case, they talked Kelly Sisson out of retirement to lay a couple of tracks. They do not use those studio practices so common to recordings today. No auto tune, no drum machines, no click tracks, no samples, etc. Berlin says: "There's nothing wrong with using these things. It's just not XGeezer... It’s the ideas, not the machines that matter." So, they record as ‘live’ as possible.

Everything you hear was produced by musicians, the intention being to create a more ‘human’ sound at a time when I hear very little of it. The new reality of the music business makes these choices obvious, and to me, necessary. What you have is XGeezer's take on writing and recording music. No labels, no producers, and no lawyers. Hopefully, creating a more direct connection between their excellent music and the audience. Whether this is a good idea or whether they succeed is left to those who wish to listen.

Thommy Berlin is a guitar legend in Jacksonville. After overcoming what seemed to be a 'terminal habit', he has returned to making music. I must say that I'm impressed with his recovery and this new band. Of XGeezer he says: "I’ve been working with Roy De Stroy for a long time. He is the most creative bass player I’ve worked with. He will not accept standard tunings, round wound strings, or picks. And he’s as good a friend as he is a musician and an engineer. When we work in the studio, I rely on his ears more than my own. He can also write a damned good song. I met Sean ‘Bones’ Jones when he was playing in Blue Veronica. Being a drummer myself, I immediately heard his talent, and decided that we would work together one day. He has ears and knows how to play a song. All rare qualities in a drummer, these days. He hits like Bonham, and swings like Krupa. What the hell else could you want from a drummer? Me, I play guitar pretty good for a songwriter, and I sing pretty good for a guitarist. But I'm a songwriter first."

I would encourage any fan of any kind of rock music to take a few minutes and listen."
